QatarEnergy, formerly Qatar Petroleum, is a state-owned petroleum company of Qatar, founded in 1974. It operates all oil and gas activities in Qatar, including exploration, production, refining, transport, and storage. The company is led by President and CEO Saad Sherida al-Kaabi, who also serves as the Minister of State for Energy Affairs. Its operations are directly linked with state planning agencies, regulatory authorities, and policy-making bodies. In 2022, QatarEnergy reported total revenues of US$52 billion, a net income of US$42.4 billion, and total assets of US$162 billion. Revenues from oil and natural gas collectively account for 60% of Qatar's GDP. As of 2018, it was the third largest oil company globally by oil and gas reserves, and in 2021, it was the fifth largest gas company worldwide.
