SK Telecom Co., Ltd., abbreviated as SK T, is a South Korean wireless telecommunications operator and former film distributor. Part of the SK Group, one of the country's largest chaebols, it operates in the telecommunications industry. The company was founded on April 20, 1984, as Korea Mobile Telecommunications, and rebranded as SK Telecom in 1997. Headquartered in Jung District, Seoul, South Korea, SK Telecom leads the local market with a 50.5 percent share as of 2008 and is the largest wireless carrier in South Korea, boasting 23 million subscribers as of Q4 2023. In 2024, it reported 17.95 trillion in consolidated revenue.
