GlobalFoundries Inc. is a multinational semiconductor contract manufacturing and design company, headquartered in Malta, New York, U.S., and also located in the Cayman Islands. It was created by the divestiture of AMD's manufacturing arm in March 2009. The company was privately owned by Mubadala Investment Company, a sovereign wealth fund of the United Arab Emirates, until its initial public offering (IPO) in October 2021, with Mubadala remaining the majority owner with an 82% stake. As a public subsidiary, GlobalFoundries reported a revenue of US$ 6.75 billion in 2024.
